Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus is seeking a Unit Secretary for Per Diem Day shifts. You will perform essential clerical tasks for patient care units, including transcription of orders, handling reports, and coordinating transport with nursing staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with medical files and terminology. Per diem schedule, with potential for growth and on-site work at Vic Village location.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical files and terminology.
• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical services to patient care units, including transcription of orders, filing of all reports, and arranging transportation and follow-up tests.
• Answer telephones and deliver messages by phone or verbally.
• Maintain close communication with the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order supplies as needed from Materials Management.
• Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Arrange transport of patients for tests not offered in the hospital.
