Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible with ARDMS.
• CPR certification may be required.
• Continuing education credits as required by licensure.
• Graduate AMA approved ultrasound program.
• At least one year’s experience as an ultrasound technologist.
• Associates or Applied Science Degree in related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound diagnostic procedures by selecting transducers and scanning sequences to produce accurate images.
• Review physician orders and patient charts to ensure correct examinations are performed.
• Prioritize requests to manage schedule and ensure staffing for critical cases.
• Perform and document quarterly quality assurance tests on equipment.
• Assist radiologists in invasive procedures and generate images for interpretation.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and keep work area clean and safe.
• Prepare examinations for interpretation and enter data in RIS/PACS accurately.
• Maintain patient care standards and effective communication with staff and patients.
• Supervise and instruct students, ensuring competency in radiographic procedures.
