Job summary

Elliot Health System’s Ultrasound team is seeking a Sonographer to produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. The role involves working as part of a team across shifts and locations, with exams including OB/GYN, vascular, abdominal, thyroid, and MSK in varied settings.

Applicants should have an accredited CAAHEP Sonography program, ARDMS certification or eligibility, and the ability to obtain BLS.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of accredited (CAAHEP) educational Sonography program recognized by the ARDMS.
• Previous experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Preferred.
• Familiarity with neuro-sonology, vascular scanning, abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scanning, Preferred.
• Compliant with Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) prior to hire, Required
• ARDMS Registered, Preferred
• OR registry eligible, must be obtain within 12 months from accepted employment, Required
• Vascular registered within 18 months from accepted employment, Required
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures based on the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission standards (IAC) and the adheres to the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) “Code of Ethics”
• Serves as the primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team.
• Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
• Use independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.
