Job summary

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking a Per Diem Staff Nurse for the Endoscopy Unit. You will provide professional nursing care, assess and document patient needs, and support teaching and counseling for patients and families.

Requirements include NYS RN license, BSN preferred, ACLS/BCLS, and strong communication skills. Per diem schedule may vary and requires teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university – HIGHLY PREFERRED.
• New graduates accepted.
• One year in acute care experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED.
• Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in the Endoscopy Unit for patients of all ages.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care using the nursing process.
• Formulate nursing diagnoses for health problems, teach, counsel, and provide care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to assistive personnel.
• Uphold The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s standard of care and mission.

Job Description
