Job summary

Oneida Health is seeking a per diem Speech Therapist for 1 day per week to support patients across Long Term Care, Acute Care, and Outpatient settings. The role emphasizes identifying and treating communication and swallowing deficits with comprehensive assessment and individualized plans.

The incumbent will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintain patient records, and contribute to patient evaluations and progress while upholding NY licensure and CCC requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• New York State license for Speech-Language Pathology with CCC.
• Limited license for Clinical Fellowship (CF) required.
• Experience with assessments and treatment across settings.
• Ability to work in Long Term Care, Acute, and Outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ speech, language, cognition, and swallowing using standardized tests.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with a multidisciplinary team.
• Teach AAC or sign language to patients with limited speech.
• Improve reading and writing skills and strengthen swallowing muscles.
• Maintain accurate patient records and complete final evaluations.
• Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
