University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks a PRN Speech Pathologist to serve patients across the lifespan, from newborns to seniors, helping them improve voice, cognition, and safe swallowing.

You’ll evaluate patients, develop therapy plans, educate families, collaborate with the rehab team, document clearly, and participate in program initiatives in a patient‑centered, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Missouri Speech Pathologist License current.
  • Eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year or CCC from ASHA.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating patients and building customized therapy plans.
  • Helping patients improve communication, thinking, and swallowing skills.
  • Adjusting treatments based on progress and goals.
  • Educating patients and families to support success at home.
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and the full rehab team.
  • Documenting clearly and thoroughly.
  • Supervising speech students and rehab techs as needed.
  • Pitching in on performance improvement projects and department initiatives.
  • Keeping your space safe, clean, and organized.
  • Leading or contributing to special projects and programs.
  • Staying current with professional development and best practices.
  • Supporting a culture of safety, quality, and great patient experiences.
