Qualifications

Master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
New York State SLP license and NYSED licensure required.
1 year of speech-language pathology experience.
CCC-SLP certification (ASHA) required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Administers speech, language, and cognitive evaluations.
Evaluates results to determine impairment and treatment.
Counsels patients on communication disorders and coping strategies.
Provides ongoing counseling and education to patients, families and caregivers.
Assists patients in developing and recovering communication and swallowing skills.
Conducts in-service training programs for rehabilitation staff.
Records and maintains reports of treatments.
Formulates and implements group therapy programs.
Participates in conferences to update treatment methods.
Performs other related duties.
