Job summary

Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center seeks an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
• Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient/resident treatment per established plan of care.
• Screen and evaluate residents and develop appropriate care plans.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative programs to restore communication and/or swallowing or cognitive function.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and practice new skills.
• Complete forms and documents per company policy and state/federal regulations; maintain records.
• Devise special tools and treatments for patients’ specific needs.
