Job summary
La Bahia Nursing & Rehabilitation invites a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our in-house team on a per diem (PRN) basis. The SLP will evaluate swallowing and cognitive deficits, advance resident goals, and provide education to residents and caregivers within our person-centered care model.
Responsibilities include AAC implementation, collaboration with physicians and other professionals, and maintaining compliant documentation.
Qualifications
- Active Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- ASHA Certification required.
- Experience with SNF/long-term care settings preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
- Assist residents to improve cognition or swallowing.
- Educate residents and caregivers.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase independence.
- Provide AAC systems for expressive/language disorders.
- Train clients, families, and staff as needed.
- Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with laws and regulations.
