Job summary

Archdiocese of New York is seeking a Per-Diem Special Education Teacher for ADNY DOE Upper Counties to design and deliver learning experiences for students with disabilities across resource room and ICT settings. This two-day-per-week assignment covers full school-day instruction in Orange County, NY, with daily pay of $255–$261.

Must hold a Master’s in Special Education and NY certification, with 5+ years of experience with autism, ADHD, and related delays.

Qualifications

Master's degree in an approved program for special education.
Possess a valid Permanent, Initial or Professional Certification from the State of New York.
Five plus years' experience working with students with multiple disabilities, including autism spectrum, ADHD, learning disabilities and developmental delays.

Responsibilities

Assess students' skills to determine their needs, adapt lessons, track their progress, and implement IEPs.
Teach to support socially acceptable behavior using positive behavioral strategies.
Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports.
Provide crisis intervention as needed.
Discuss progress with administrators, teachers, counselors and parents.
Maintain professional competence through staff development and curriculum meetings.
