Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Per Diem Sonographer for the Imaging Center - Bay Creek. The role covers abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and neurovascular imaging, with the goal of producing high-quality images and efficient service for radiologists and neurologists.

Responsibilities include performing scans, obtaining measurements, documenting findings, and supporting invasive procedures under guidance. Strong documentation, accuracy, and patient care are essential in this environment.

Qualifications

• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound is required for all new hires.
• RDMS certification required within 6–18 months of graduation depending on program/ACGRE accreditation.
• RVT certification is preferred for some Radiology sites.

Responsibilities

• Performs abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans.
• Produces ultrasound images and obtains measurements using various transducers and imaging techniques.
• Reviews patient chart for history information, valid orders, and clinical appropriateness.
• Notes the performance of the scan in the patient’s chart and completes preliminary reporting.
• Calls preliminary reports to doctors’ offices or nursing floors as requested by Radiologist.
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
• Cleans, stocks, and prepares rooms daily.
• Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
• Provides high-quality patient care with exceptional service and compassion.
• Acts as a resource to ultrasound students as a preceptor in orientation of new personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
