Job summary

The Pines at Placerville is seeking a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist for per diem opportunities in Placerville, California. You will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support communication, cognition and swallowing.

Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred; California SLP license required; new grads welcome.

Qualifications

Current California Speech Language Pathologist License.
New grads encouraged to apply.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate residents to determine speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Work closely with physicians, nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Educate residents and caregivers on aspiration prevention, communication strategies, and maintenance programs.
Participate in care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, and utilization reviews.
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation.
Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFY) and students as applicable.
Assist with staff education and restorative nursing training.
Help residents maximize independence, safety, and quality of life.
