The role covers health services, safety, and well‑being for students and staff during the school day, in accordance with school policies and Rhode Island requirements. This per diem, part‑time position offers flexible hours, with responsibilities including administering medications, assessing health concerns, and coordinating care plans for students as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR/AED certification; BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with children or adolescents preferred.
• Knowledge of school health procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students who become ill or injured during the school day.
• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate care, including when a student should return to class, be sent home, or require additional medical attention.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, parent/guardian authorization, school policies, and applicable regulations.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
• Follow student health care plans and other established health protocols.
