Job summary

First Choice Nurses is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You decide when you work, building a schedule that fits your life while delivering high-quality care in leading acute care settings.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, a minimum of 2 years PCU experience within the past 4 years, and current BLS/ACLS. QuantiFERON-TB Gold in the past year and COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption) are also

• PCU nursing experience required within the past 4 years.
• Active Virginia RN License is required.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA).
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a PCU hospital setting.
• Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatments.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other PCU equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital infection-control and safety guidelines.
• Educate patients and families as needed.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
