Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide expert nursing care for surgical patients. The role includes scrub and circulating duties, adherence to nursing processes, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across UCLA Health facilities.

The position floats to multiple units, with assignments at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA West Valley Medical Center. Must have BSN/MSN and active BLS; ACLS/PALS encouraged and CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

This position floats to various units within the UCLA Health system based on the patient census and the skills of the RN/staff. Hospital locations include but are not limited to the following:

We’re seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

• BSN or MSN degree,required
• 3 years of Operating Room RN experience or 2 years of UCLA Health Operating Room RN experience,required
• Travel or extensive OR RN experience in an acute hospital setting, preferred
• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association,required
• Able to circulate and scrub OR cases including ophthalmology,required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association,preferred
• PALS from the American Heart Association,preferred
• CNOR certification, preferred
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop/deliver appropriate interventions, involving patients, family and staff
• Exceptional communication, prioritization, organization and designating skills
• Thorough understanding of medical/surgical terminology
• Knowledge of EHR charting
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively with others, providing compassionate and cutting-edge patient care while also contributing to the positive and collaborative team environment at UCLA Health is a must
• Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire
