Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles is seeking a Per Diem RN for the Operating Room – Float Team. You will scrub and circulate OR cases and provide direct patient care using evidence‑based nursing processes.

The role involves floating to multiple UCLA Health units depending on patient census and staff skills. A California RN license, OR experience, and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS and CNOR are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license, required
• BSN or MSN degree, required
• 3 years of Operating Room RN experience or 2 years UCLA Health OR RN experience, required
• Travel or extensive OR RN experience in an acute hospital setting, preferred
• BLS from ARC or AHA, required
• Able to circulate and scrub OR cases including ophthalmology, required
• ACLS from AHA, preferred
• PALS from AHA, preferred CNOR certification, preferred
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop/deliver appropriate interventions, involving patients, family and staff
• Exceptional communication, prioritization, organization and designating skills
• Thorough understanding of medical/surgical terminology
• Knowledge of EHR charting
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively with others, providing compassionate and cutting‑edge patient care while also contributing to the positive and collaborative team environment at UCLA Health is a must
• Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire
