Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah, Tennessee, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Long Term Care unit. This per diem role offers day or night shifts with rotating weekends, and provides an opportunity to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a supportive team environment.

You will perform assessments, develop care plans, supervise staff on your shift, and coordinate transfers while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• BLS Certification required at time of hire.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire or department transfer.
• Active Tennessee RN license (single-state or compact) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care aligned with problems identified and patient capabilities/desires.
• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Assists in determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability and patient acuity.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and participates in problem-solving.
• Takes patient assignments to meet staffing needs and coordinates transfers.
