Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a Per-Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to support individuals with developmental disabilities in a Manhattan IRA residence. You will evaluate health needs, promote wellness, and ensure nursing care complies with regulations and agency policy.

Pay rate is $48-$50 per hour with a flexible schedule, averaging around 14 hours per week. Requires NY RN license and CPR certification; experience with developmental disabilities preferred; valid NYS driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

Must be currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in New York State.
CPR certification required.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and work as a member of a team.
A valid NY State or Tri-State Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate medical care for assigned individuals, monitor health needs and arrange follow-up care as needed.
Assess health status through direct observation of consumers.
Observe and respond to signs of discomfort or illness.
Evaluate changes in physical status and adjust care plans accordingly.
Document findings and follow up on health issues.
Communicate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
