Job summary

Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for per diem day shifts. The role provides direct clinical care, assesses and plans patient care per shift, and supervises staff to ensure safe, high-quality nursing.

This position supports the CNO and emphasizes competency and resource management for patient care. Requires graduate nursing education and current licensure; BLS is required, with ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
• Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
• AHA BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable.
• ENPC, TNCC, BASIC FETAL, CPI certifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective nursing care to all patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process.
• Adhere to safety, risk management, QI, and infection control standards.
• Coordinate care planning within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer medications safely per hospital policy.
• Fulfill HICS duties and participate in emergency codes as needed.
