Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for New London Hospital to provide patient-centered nursing care on the Medical/Surgical Unit. You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while promoting safety and quality across shifts.

The role requires NH RN licensure with ACLS certification within 180 days, 1 year of clinical practice, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Per diem, day shift.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1 year of relevant clinical practice.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process in caring for all patients, including assessing symptoms, planning interventions, implementing treatment, evaluating responses, and revising the plan as needed.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across the population served.
• Adheres to established practice standards and procedures at New London Hospital in medication administration and inpatient care.
• Documents care using hospital standards and appropriate nursing notes.
• Provides patient and family education based on assessed learning needs.
• Participates in interdisciplinary discharge planning.
• Ensures a safe patient environment and reduces health care errors.
• Assists in orientation of new employees to the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Participates in required hospital and/or unit competencies.
• Attends staff meetings as required by Clinical Manager.
