Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1 year of relevant clinical practice.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process in caring for all patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and revision of plans.
• Delivers age-appropriate care for the population served.
• Adheres to established nursing standards and hospital procedures in medication administration and in-patient care.
• Documents care using hospital standards and appropriate nursing notes.
• Provides education to patients and families based on assessed learning needs.
• Participates in interdisciplinary discharge planning.
• Ensures patient environment is safe and free from hazards.
• Performs all aspects of patient care to optimize safety and reduce errors.
• Assists in orienting new employees to the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Participates in required hospital and unit competencies.
• Attends staff meetings as required by Clinical Manager.
