Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a skilled registered nurse for per diem shifts. The role emphasizes independent clinical practice, nursing process, patient education, and collaboration with the care team to manage complex needs.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN preferred, at least one year in a related nursing specialty, and current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications. New nurse orientation and onboarding are required for ongoing competency verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• Current TNCC certification required
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
