Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, based in Seattle, seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner per diem to perform a range of pulmonary function tests including spirometry and ABG draws. The role requires AS degree in Respiratory Therapy, LRCP licensure, and NBRC credentials with at least two years of experience.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to maintain test quality, provide patient-centered care, and ensure timely reporting of results for physician interpretation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program (AA).
• Washington State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP).
• Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner. Basic Life Support (BLS) via AHA.
• Minimum two years relevant experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Manual dexterity and precision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations of pulmonary conditions by performing spirometry, ABG draws, and exercise testing.
• Set up and explain procedures to patients; ensure test reliability and accurate results.
• Maintain documentation of test results and equipment maintenance in permanent records.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and arrange service calls for lab equipment as needed.
• Coordinate with nursing and scheduling staff to ensure adequate lab staffing and flexible scheduling.
• Orient new staff and maintain lab policies, procedures, and education materials.
