Job summary

Northern Inyo Healthcare District in Bishop, CA is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy for patients from newborn to geriatric. The role includes assessing, treating and managing cardiopulmonary conditions, consulting with physicians, and supporting nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position requires a CA license, NBRC registration, BLS and 6-month timely completion of NRP, PALS, and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS, NRP, PALS, ACLS within 6 months of hire and ongoing.
• Prior experience in an acute care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per department standards and patient needs.
• Administer medications with knowledge of actions, routes, dosages and side effects.
• Review provider orders to ensure correct tests and procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain airways during resuscitations.
• Perform blood gas analysis, run tests and report results promptly.
• Maintain and troubleshoot blood gas analyzer equipment.
• Assist with EKGs and monitor patient status.
• Coordinate care with Nursing, Medical Staff and Cardiopulmonary teams.
• Ensure patient safety and accurate identification of patients.
