Job summary

Northern Inyo Healthcare District in Bishop, CA seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner on a per diem 12-hour shift to provide comprehensive respiratory therapy across patient ages, from newborn to geriatric, following established care standards.

Responsibilities include administering medications, evaluating orders, assisting with EKGs, maintaining blood gas equipment, and coordinating with Nursing and Medical Staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associated Degree in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC).
• BLS, NRP within 6 months of hire and ongoing.
• PALS within 6 months of hire and ongoing.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire and ongoing.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care per department standards.
• Administers medications with knowledge of actions, routes, dosages and side effects.
• Checks orders to ensure correct tests.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains airways and ventilation.
• Performs blood gases, runs samples and reports promptly.
• Maintains blood gas analyzer.
• Assists with EKGs.
• Coordinates care with Nursing and Medical staff.
• Ensures safe patient care and cleans equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
