Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers Harrington House in Dorchester is seeking Per Diem Residential Counselors to support children ages 8-13 in a group home setting. You will contribute to a safe, structured home-like environment and help youths transition back to families or independence through school and activities.

Expectations include CORI checks, active involvement for 8-10 hour shifts, verbal de-escalation, and a structured supervision process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Life experience with parenting and/or childcare preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, supportive environment for children in a group home.
• Coordinate daily activities and document information for shifts.
• Respond to behavioral challenges using approved de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with school attendance and community integration as applicable.
• Engage in supervision and feedback processes.
