Requirements

Options for Community Living, Inc. is seeking Per Diem Residential Counselors to join our team. Ideal candidates should:

  • Be passionate about assisting individuals diagnosed with mental illness; be a self-starter and well-organized.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably have experience in a residential program.
  • Be available to provide coverage when offered, respond within 48 hours to coverage requests, and report to shifts once committed.
  • Provide at least 1 shift per month.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, auto insurance, and access to a vehicle.

Salary Range: $20.00/hr. - $24.00/hr.

  • The salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on experience, education, credentials, and other factors.
  • Overnight & Weekend Differential Pay may apply.

Schedule: 4, 6, or 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Locations: In person at various sites including Port Jefferson Station, Medford, Oakdale, East Islip, Huntington Station, Ronkonkoma.

Pay Type: Non-exempt

Responsibilities

The Relief Residential Counselor supports residents with mental health diagnoses by assisting with daily activities, monitoring plans, documenting services, managing medication, providing counseling and crisis intervention, and ensuring household management. Additional duties include transportation, emergency reporting, shift documentation, and training compliance.

Individuals will help residents live, learn, and develop in an environment that respects personal choice, contributing to their potential and well-being.
