Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a per diem (PD/PRN) role covering day shifts. The RRT will perform respiratory therapy and diagnostic procedures as directed by medical directors, lead the department in the absence of a supervisor, and work within the acute care setting.

The position requires RRT credentials, NBRC certification or within 3 months of hire, BLS and ACLS upon hire, with PALS preferred or achieved within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from NBRC or within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintain current.
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintain current or within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications.
• Conduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• May be part of rapid response team, providing airway management and resuscitation.
• Assess respiratory status, adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained for patient safety.
