Job summary

Wood County Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist per diem to provide high-quality respiratory care on-site. You will collaborate with the care team to assess and treat cardiopulmonary conditions, perform diagnostics, and educate patients and families to promote recovery and long-term outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an Ohio RCP license, NBRC RRT credentials, and certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP) within 90 days. Per diem hours vary with patient needs and department demand.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy from a CoARC approved program.
• Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• RRT credentialed through NBRC; BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP within 90 days of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field preferred.
• 1 year acute care experience and/or 2 years in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver respiratory treatments and rehabilitation regimens; monitor responses.
• Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., blood gas) and provide emergency interventions as needed.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and respiratory care.
• Coordinate scheduling, equipment, and communication with providers for seamless care.

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (CoARC approved)

Ohio licensure as an RCP
