Radiology Nurse (RN)

The Radiology Staff Nurse is a registered nurse who cares for adult and pediatric patients undergoing radiology exams. They become experts in managing outpatients and inpatients requiring radiology services, providing procedural sedation, patient and family support, patient teaching, and collaborating with inpatient care teams. Care is provided in MRI, CT, and Interventional Radiology suites.

Radiology nurses are vital to multispecialty care at MGH, practicing with a team approach focused on excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• BSN preferred
• Current Massachusetts RN licensure required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Interventional Radiology care experience preferred
• Critical Care experience (ED or ICU) required
• Ability to perform physical tasks while wearing protective lead gear
• Workday: Day shift with on-call for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Minimum 3 years recent acute care RN experience; new grads are not considered

Job Summary

Responsible for interpreting medical care plans, assessing patients, ensuring safe and competent nursing care, providing individualized care, and evaluating nursing outcomes.
