RWJBarnabas Health's Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pulmonary Medical/Surgical Unit. This role emphasizes teamwork, clinical excellence and growth within a purpose-driven environment, with on-call options and a per diem schedule.

A NJ-licensed RN with BLS and at least 2 years acute care experience in Medical/Surgical or Pulmonary is required; a BSN is preferred.

As a Pulmonary Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. You must also have at least 2 years acute care nursing experience in Medical/Surgical and/or Pulmonary nursing. A bachelor's degree in nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a per diem schedule: 3 - 7.5 hour shifts per month (one of these shifts on a weekend), 1 - 7.5 hour Summer Holiday (July 4th, Easter, Labor Day), and 1 - 7.5 hour Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
