Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The role supports high-quality care with a collaborative team and a day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, in a state-of-the-art ED with continuous improvement emphasis.

The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and participate in rounds and family education while pursuing professional growth and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• New Jersey RN license in good standing is required.
• BSN is strongly preferred.
• Active BLS certification required; CEN preferred.
• Two years ER nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care per clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams for timely decisions.

With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32 bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Two years of nursing and/or ER nursing experience preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is the following certification - CEN, and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. In this position, you will work 7a-7:30p, 3 shifts per month, with at least 1-2 weekend shifts, and 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday
