RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Jersey City Medical Center’s Emergency Department. Evening shift, full-time, on-site in Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities include patient assessments, safe medication administration, and collaborative care with physicians.

Ideal candidates hold an active NJ RN license, BLS, and a BSN; experience in ED and EPIC EMR are preferred to support rapid, compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Emergency nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Provide medications and hands-on care with strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to support timely decisions.
• Educate patients and families so they are informed and prepared.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience in emergency nursing and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. You will work the evening shift, 12p-12a and every other weekend, and rotating holidays.
