Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in Rhode Island or eligible for licensure
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred with broad life-span care knowledge
• Demonstrates ability to teach patients and families and participate in quality improvement

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Delegates and supervises safety-oriented nursing activities.
• Evaluates patient care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community services for discharge planning.
• Maintains clinical competencies and completes required education (BLS, ACLS/PALS as appropriate).
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
