Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an experienced registered nurse to implement, supervise and evaluate patient care under the Clinical Manager, guiding care from admission to discharge with attention to aging, development and cultural patterns.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team, mentor new graduates and participate in unit-based quality improvement and educational activities while upholding the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Rhode Island required or equivalent license.
• BSN preferred; nursing degree from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Provides leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care activities.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding care outcomes.
• Assesses and provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Utilizes resources to provide quality, cost-effective care.
• Maintains clinical competencies including BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
• Identifies growth needs and participates in educational opportunities.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
