Job summary

Care New England Health System in Warwick, Rhode Island seeks three per diem registered nurses to provide professional nursing services to a defined patient group. Responsibilities include direct patient care, education, and coordination with physicians to ensure continuous, high-quality care.

Qualified candidates hold a BSN, RI RN license, IV certification, BLS and ACLS (ACLS within one year of hire). Experience with critically ill patients and hemodynamic monitoring is preferred.

Qualifications

• IV certification required.
• Ability to recognize significant cardiac arrhythmias.
• Understanding of symptoms and complications of myocardial infarction.
• Knowledge of needs of critically ill medical/surgical patients.
• Maintain a quiet, anxiety-free environment for patients.
• Competence in operating resuscitation equipment.
• BLS certified.
• ACLS completion within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and basics for IABP.
• Attend yearly competency fair.
• RI state RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including examination and treatment under an approved protocol.
• Use the nursing process to implement goal-directed nursing care for a defined group of patients.
• Monitor patients and report changes to Nursing Supervisor/Physician or designee.
• Educate patients and family regarding condition and follow-up planning.
• Perform nursing skills per physician orders and hospital policies.
• Communicate with physicians and other departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to emergencies per established procedures.
• Maintain patient records in an orderly, legible, complete manner.
• Provide clinical leadership and assist in orientation of new staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities when necessary.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and attend seminars or in-services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
