Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital in Marysville, WA seeks a Per Diem Recreational Therapist to plan and deliver engaging activity services aligned with treatment goals. The role supports patients through psychosocial and leisure activities within an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in recreational therapy or related field, state or national licensure, and CPR/CPI certification, with CPI training within 30 days of employment. Weekend shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in recreational therapy or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification or licensure in recreational therapy (Washington state or national governing body).
• CPR Certification and CPI training prior to restraining procedures and within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activity therapy for assigned patient caseload within the facility.
• Observe and document changes in patient appearance, behavior, and progress toward treatment plan goals.
• Provide psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development assessments.
• Assist patients in achieving their optimum level of independent functioning.
• Model and teach coping, social, and stress management techniques.
• Contribute to treatment plans with specific goals and interventions in therapeutic activities.
