Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking an X-Ray Technologist, FGP - Per Diem - Suffolk Float to join our diagnostic imaging team. You will perform radiographic exams, position patients, adjust factors, and ensure high-quality images while minimizing exposure.

The role requires strong patient communication and adherence to safety protocols at a fast-paced hospital. Minimum qualifications include an accredited radiologic technology program and NYS licensure, with a Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology required.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License or Temp Permit required/acceptable in lieu.
• Bachelor's degree preferred and highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations independently per protocols and orders.
• Position patients and equipment to obtain diagnostic images while minimizing exposure.
• Adjust technical factors to ensure image quality and safety; review images for quality.
• Use markers, shielding, and positioning aids; generate and transmit images/reports.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety; follow ALARA and HIPAA.
