Job summary

The candidate should be ARDMS registered or registry-eligible, with a two-year ultrasound program and 3–6 months on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Registered or Registry Eligible with ARDMS.
• Completion of a two-year approved Ultrasound Diagnostic School.
• Approximately three to six months on the job training.

Responsibilities

• Corroborates patient clinical history with the procedure and ensures documentation is available for review by a radiologist.
• Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient comfort.
• Verifies informed consent and assists during interventional procedures, applying aseptic technique and checking requisitions.
• Evaluates images and data for technical quality, selects/operates ultrasound equipment, and records identification correctly.
• Assumes responsibility for patient physical and psychological needs during procedures, ensuring safety.
• Delivers patient care by identifying and prepping the patient, explaining the procedure, and ensuring no contraindications.
• Maintains patient dignity and safety, provides clear instructions for moving/breathing, and monitors patient condition.
