Job summary

Apex Home Health is hiring a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Orange City, Florida. This home health position requires providing treatment, instruction, and education under the plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Primary responsibilities include patient exercise instruction, gait and mobility training, and coordinating care with the health care team. Must maintain PTA licensure and be able to work weekends; competitive compensation details

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Following state laws governing home health physical therapy; perform only treatments defined by supervising PT and suggest plan of care changes.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, gait training, ADLs, transfers, safety and mobility.
• Monitors patient responses and communicates with supervising PT, nurse and physician; coordinates care with the health care team.
• Educates patient, family, caregiver, and health care team on therapy within scope of PTA.
• Operate in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, or disability.
