Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work at Bishop Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Syracuse, NY. The PTA will follow the plan of care, assist residents with exercises, and document progress in a state-of-the-art rehab setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort.
