Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide per diem coverage at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey. The role focuses on inpatient and on-call psychiatric care within acute care settings, supporting adult, adolescent, and pediatric units as needed.

Successful candidates will be NJ-licensed or eligible, comfortable with ED evaluations, inpatient rounds, and weekend shifts, and capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to

Qualifications

• ABPN board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• NJ licensed or eligible for NJ licensure.
• Comfortable with inpatient rounding, emergency consults (PESS), inpatient consults, and on-call shifts.
• Effective communicators who thrive in multidisciplinary team settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for inpatient child, adolescent, and adult units (both voluntary and involuntary).
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the Emergency Department and acute care hospital settings.
• Conduct weekend rounding and facilitate patient discharges.
• Ensure timely documentation and compliance with hospital bylaws.
• Provide in-person weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) for STCF/STC and PESS.
