Job summary

Atlantic Health System's Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ seeks per diem psychiatrists to support Behavioral Health Services, with a minimum commitment of six weekend days and/or holidays per year as scheduled by the Department of Psychiatry.

The physician will provide clinical and administrative direction for Psychiatric Services across Newton Medical Center, including CIS/ED and inpatient units on weekends/holidays, with collaboration with the Per Diem Psychiatric APN.

Qualifications

• Board certification in adult psychiatry.
• Licensed or eligible to practice medicine in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely consultation to CIS and inpatient psychiatry units.
• Perform psychiatric evaluations, follow-ups, and medication monitoring for inpatients.
• Offer emergency psychiatric consultations across medical-surgical floors during weekends/holidays.
• Provide clinical supervision to the clinical nurse specialist and collaborate with the Per Diem Psychiatric APN.
