Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
• BSN degree preferred when available.
• Postpartum/Mother Baby experience required.
• Massachusetts RN license in good standing.
• Certified in IBCLC preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, mental, and psychological status of patients using age-appropriate knowledge.
• Plans, evaluates, and supervises care of all patients assigned.
• Works collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients.
• Participates in educational programs to improve technical skills.
• Provide patient and family education on care and discharge.
• Synthesize care information to formulate nursing diagnoses.
• Direct care for breastfeeding women in BirthPlace and Nursery.
• Serve as liaison for staff regarding breastfeeding support.
