Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York, NY, invites a Per Diem Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. You will evaluate physical therapy needs and provide medically prescribed therapy in a supervised program to assigned patients.

You will participate in clinical education of Fieldwork students, supervise learners, manage patient care productivity, and implement and adjust treatment plans. Thorough documentation is required to support reimbursement and care continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
• New York State Physical Therapy License or temporary permit required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• BLS certification or CPR/AED certification required upon entry.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Clinical Education of Fieldwork students and other professional educational endeavors.
• Manages patient care productivity as indicated by unit procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in treatment techniques for assigned patient populations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assesses and plans treatment based on patient status and referral/treatment orders.
• Implements treatment plans and selects appropriate aids and referrals to achieve goals.
• Completes documentation for patient care and reimbursement in the medical chart.
