CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, processing, and referrals across the lab workflow. This per diem role supports coverage and patient-centered care, adapting to varying shifts while maintaining safety and comfort for patients.

The position requires attention to detail, adherence to CAP/JCAHO/OSHA standards, and clear communication with patients, nurses, and physicians. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; completion of a phlebotomy program is expected.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy; Medical Laboratory; or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy preferred.
• Familiar with medical terminology; computer data entry; organizational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Performs all duties of a phlebotomist; specimen collection, specimen receiving, specimen send-outs.
• Operates the laboratory computer system to document specimen information, patient registration, order entry, collection lists, and other assigned tasks.
• Assures quality of work and maintains specimen integrity; coordinates services to ensure patient satisfaction and cost-efficient operations.
• Maintains a neat and sanitary collection area and restocks supplies as necessary.
• Complies with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety, privacy and security of PHI, and other regulatory standards.

Phlebotomy/Medical Laboratory/Medical Assistant program including phlebotomy

Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred

Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or State licensure (if in Louisiana) preferred
