Job summary

University Health Services at UC Berkeley is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician (9279C) to join an outpatient pharmacy team. You will assist pharmacists with entering and filling prescriptions, maintain inventory, and handle cashiering duties in a busy clinical setting.

This 20% part-time position (8 hours/week) pays $41.78 per hour. Per diem staff are not eligible for UC benefits; the role supports patient care and safe medication distribution under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director.

Qualifications

• Free and clear pharmacy technician license with California State Board of Pharmacy.
• High School Diploma required.
• Able to accurately process prescription orders and insurance.
• Strong telephone and typing skills; effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, enter, and fill prescriptions; process refill requests.
• Maintain inventory; restock, track purchases, remove expired medications.
• Cashier duties; assist patients; triage calls and refer to pharmacists.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA; ensure professionalism in all interactions.
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to meet UHS goals; ensure safety and accuracy.
