Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Pharmacy Tech II for Per Diem Outpatient Pharmacy in San Diego. You will assist pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution, ensuring accuracy and timely patient care.

Requirements include California Pharmacy Technician license and 2–5 years of retail pharmacy experience, with strong data entry and communication skills. Flexible to work days, 8-hour shifts at 9610 Ridgehaven Court, San Diego.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of two to five years of retail Pharmacy Tech experience.
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
• Computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
• Ability to perform retail/outpatient technician duties (Order Entry, Filling, POS, Mail Order).
• Willingness to self-teach in a changing clinical environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients and providers.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform a full range of duties in outpatient pharmacy and assist pharmacists with medication preparation.
• Assist in distribution of medications, manage inventory, and support billing and recordkeeping functions.
• Perform assigned operational duties in the area and help complete medication orders and related distribution tasks.
