Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for the Outpatient Pharmacy at Kearny Mesa. This per diem role supports pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution, with 8-hour day shifts Monday–Friday and a 20% appointment percentage.

Licensure by the California State Board of Pharmacy is required; 2–5 years of retail pharmacy tech experience preferred, with strong data entry and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• 2–5 years of retail Pharmacy Tech experience.
• Pharmacy terminology and calculation knowledge.
• Computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
• Ability to perform retail/outpatient technician duties (Order Entry, Filling, POS, etc).
• Ability to self-teach in a changing clinical environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients and providers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and distribution of medications under supervision.
• Support pharmacists with medication orders and related distribution tasks.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure accurate records and billing.
