Job summary

BAART Programs is seeking a compassionate Pharmacy Technician for a per diem role to assist the pharmacist with medication preparation and patient interaction in an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Licensed as Pharmacy Technician in the state assigned.
• Understanding of HIPAA, federal, state and CARF standards and regulations.
• Proven excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent documentation and computer skills.
• Knowledge of local community drug trends and signs of narcotic overdose.
• Ability to work effectively within medical hierarchy and solve problems.
• Good time management and ability to work with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person and by phone; refer inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory; check stock, place orders, verify receipt, remove outdated drugs.
• Maintain a safe, clean pharmacy by following procedures and regulations.
• Adhere to infection-control policies to protect patients and staff.
• Organize medications for dispensing; read orders, label, calculate quantities, prepare IV solutions.
• Record and file physicians' orders and prescriptions; generate charges.
• Deliver medications to patients and departments to ensure availability.
• Prepare reports and contribute to team goals.
• Handle stressful situations professionally and work with others.
• Must be present during working hours for in-person meetings and computer access.
